Working at AlohaCare is more than a job, it’s an opportunity to build a meaningful career. It’s a chance to help shape how healthcare is delivered in Hawai‘i’s communities. And, we do this in an environment where you can bring your whole self to work, voice your opinions, and feel supported in the process.
Who we are and what we do
We are a safety net health plan founded in 1994 by Hawai‘i’s community health centers to support individual wellness and promote community access to quality health care. We do this by embracing and celebrating Hawaiˊi's diverse populations; supporting whole person care; creating innovative services; and operating with aloha.
Meet the team
Hear from our team members about what it means to work at AlohaCare:
Tracy Sandher, RN, MSN, CPHQ, Sr. Manager of Quality Improvement & Population Health
"Having worked at AlohaCare since 2014, I have had the honor to work beside many talented, inspiring, and mission-driven individuals. This organization truly has a special working culture, where operating with aloha is felt, understood, and always triumphs when challenges arise. I am grateful that my enthusiasm for quality improvement and eagerness to continue learning has been recognized here."
Jacey G. Laborte, Provider Relations Representative, Maui
“There is a huge difference in having a job versus a fulfilling career. What’s the key? Making a difference. AlohaCare is an organization with a deep and firm commitment to its members, along with its employees, and supports you in having a fulfilling career. AlohaCare strives to maintain an inclusive and healthy work culture and creates space where people can be themselves. Ultimately, we celebrate the collective diversity of our team as its own unifying strength. AlohaCare exemplifies putting people first, by empowering them in their work and being proud of their accomplishments. The recognition, awards, and appreciation AlohaCare shows to their employees are tantamount to the mutual successes--shared to better our teams and relationships with our members and providers. In all, AlohaCare creates and sustains an environment to help you strive to achieve your own excellence, while recognizing you as part of a growing and dynamic family where your individuality is celebrated and your value is greatly appreciated.”
Mallory Hee, JD, Compliance Director
"Since starting with AlohaCare in 2013, I can confidently say that AlohaCare values its employees and emphasizes their personal and professional growth. During my time here, AlohaCare has provided me with the tools, resources, and support from leadership to not only learn about our business but also to grow as an individual. I have been able to work in three different departments at AlohaCare, which has allowed me to pursue my interests and gain a breadth of knowledge I don’t know that I could get elsewhere in the same amount of time. And because of the strength of our leadership, I have been able to grow upwards into a director role and take on additional responsibilities.”
