The state government office that oversees QUEST Integration announced important changes to its Medicaid eligibility review process.
Terminations (ending your Medicaid coverage) have been paused through the end of 2023 EXCEPT for those who voluntarily ask the Med-QUEST office to end their coverage, move out of state or pass away.
There may be special exceptions for Maui residents who have moved out of state, and we will update this alert accordingly.

Maui Wildfires Relief Resources and Assistance

Your health, safety, and well-being are our top priorities. AlohaCare has been closely monitoring the impact of the Maui wildfires. Our hearts go out to members, providers and all residents of our state who have been affected by this tragedy. We are here to help you to access the care you need.

Med-QUEST Paused Eligibility Renewal Terminations for Maui County Residents through May 2024

In support of the Maui Nui community, Med-Quest has paused all terminations and eligibility renewals for Maui County residents through May 2024. However, it's important to update us with your address.

Am I covered for transportation services?

Yes, AlohaCare will help members impacted by this natural disaster. You may qualify for additional one-way or round trips. To arrange transportation services, call Intelliride at 1-877-973-0712 toll-free or email memberhelp@alohacare.org. We will prioritize requests for evacuation or for those who have been displaced.

Do I need to get an approval from AlohaCare before I get medical care?

Not at this time. A prior authorization or referral to an in-network participating provider or hospital on Maui is temporarily waived for medically necessary services.

Can I refill my medication early?

Yes, if you are on Maui and need to replace lost medication, ask your nearest pharmacy for an early refill override or call us at 1-877-973-0712 toll-free or email memberhelp@alohacare.org.

How else can I get care?

AlohaCare Telehealth Connect offers online urgent care visits available 24/7. Doctors can prescribe medications and send to your nearest pharmacy if needed. Behavioral health counseling is also available. For more information on how to connect. visit alohacare.org/telehealth or call us.

The AlohaCare 24-hour Nurse Advice Line is also a resource you can use when you can’t reach your primary care provider (PCP). If you have basic health questions about your symptoms, including when and where to seek care, or if you need wellness information, you can call the 24-hour Nurse Advice Line toll-free at 1-877-225-8839 (QUEST) or 1-855-690-5930 (Medicare).

Where can I get more information or find support?

Family Assistance Center (FAC) – Provides for a “one-stop shop” of resources and services for those affected by the Maui wildfires. Families and individuals will have the opportunity to meet with FAC staff who can help to assess needs and connect them with services that are on site as well as other resources within the community. FAC is located at 200 Nohea Kai Drive in Kaʻanapali and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Maui Recovers.org - Provides important updates on recovery efforts, including re-entry to impacted areas, safety information for those returning to their property, fire debris removal, maps and data, water and wastewater, recovery phases and information on financial and housing assistance.

Maui Nui Strong.info - Provides updated information on relief efforts for those impacted by the Maui wildfire disaster and for those who want to lend their support. It also features important links and resources for residents, businesses and visitors.

Medicaid Renewal Scam Alert

Please be aware of Medicaid renewal scams. AlohaCare and Hawai‘i’s Medicaid office (Med-QUEST) will never charge you for renewing your Medicaid coverage. You may receive a call, text or letter from AlohaCare or Med-QUEST, but we will never ask for money or bank/credit card information.
