AlohaCare was formed in 1994 by Hawaii Community Health Centers (CHCs) to provide high quality health care services to Hawaii's medically underserved populations, and make managed care participation beneficial for Community Health Centers. CHCs are the majority representation on AlohaCare's Board of Directors. CHCs also have consumer-led boards, which ensure that our communities have a voice. Community governance strengthens AlohaCare's sensitivity and commitment to the needs of our members.
