AlohaCare is a non-profit health plan founded in 1994 by Hawaii’s Community Health Centers. AlohaCare is the second-largest health plan in Hawaii.
 
Our passion is to serve the people of Hawaii in the true spirit of aloha. We are committed to improving the health of Hawaii's communities. We specialize in QUEST (Medicaid) health insurance to people living on Oahu, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, Maui and Hawaii Island. We are mission driven to care for people who are underserved with specific health needs.
 
We provide health care coverage for Hawaii's QUEST (Medicaid) beneficiaries. AlohaCare is a health plan with a Medicare contract and provides Medicare coverage to beneficiaries in Hawaii.

Please be advised that the QUEST (Medicaid) and Medicare programs offered by AlohaCare are not affected by the federal government shutdown that began October 1, 2025. AlohaCare and its programs will continue to operate normally at this time. If this changes, AlohaCare will update this announcement. If you have any questions, please contact us. 

 

Notice to AlohaCare Members*


On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed into law the budget bill, HR1. This law affects Hawaii's Med-QUEST program and the people it serves.
Right now, there are no changes to the Hawaii Med-QUEST program. Please continue to see your doctors and get your medicine. Please contact AlohaCare if you need help.
Med-QUEST will notify you in advance of any changes. For the latest updates, please go to the Med-QUEST website at www.medquest.hawaii.gov.

Will I lose my QUEST coverage?
No. As long as you continue to be eligible for the QUEST program, you will keep your QUEST coverage. Eligibility is based on things like income, household size, residency, and age. If there are any changes to your eligibility, Med-QUEST will notify you at least 10 days in advance of any changes.  


Have eligibility rules changed?
There are no changes to the eligibility rules at this time. Changes may occur as soon as Fall 2026. Med-QUEST will notify you in advance of any changes.


How do work requirements affect me?
At this time, no work requirements are in effect. Starting December 31, 2026, the new law requires states to implement work requirements” for certain enrollees. Med-QUEST will notify you in advance of any changes.


How does my immigration status affect me?
At this time, there are no eligibility changes related to immigration status. Med-QUEST will notify you in advance of any changes.


Has my QUEST coverage changed? Are my benefits affected?
No, there are no changes at this time. Med-QUEST will notify you at least 10 days in advance of any changes. We encourage you to continue to see your providers and get your medicine. If you need help, please contact AlohaCare.

Can I still see my doctor? Can I still get my medications?
Yes, you can. We encourage you to continue to see your providers and get your medicine. If you need help, please contact AlohaCare.


Will I have to pay out of pocket?
No, not right now. In the future, certain members may need to pay out of pocket. Med-QUEST will notify you in advance of any changes.


How can I learn more about my benefits?
Please contact us to learn more about your AlohaCare QUEST benefits. We encourage you to continue to see your providers and get your medicine. If you need help, please contact AlohaCare.
