State Hospitals
AlohaCare contributed more than $2 million to help State Hospitals recruit and retain much needed Neighbor Island doctors.
West Hawaii Community Health Center and Koolauloa Community Health Center
AlohaCare helped fund the start-up of these new community health centers in Kona, on the Big Island and North Shore, Oahu. Both Kona and the North Shore are isolated communities that needed to increase their capacity to serve more people.
Maui Adult Day Care Centers
AlohaCare provided more than $30,000 in multi-year grants to the Maui Adult Day Care Center to launch and operate an innovative Sun Downing Program to help individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of related dementia and their family members have specialized respite care during the hours when people with Alzheimer’s often feel most agitate. This program provides exercise, special activities, personal care services, mental stimulating activities and entertainment.
Hawaii’s Community Health Centers
AlohaCare’s history dates back to 1994 when we were founded by Hawaii’s Community Health Centers. Today, AlohaCare works closely with the Community Health Centers to support the needs of the underserved, medically fragile members of our community. We’re governed by a Board of Directors that include representatives from many of Hawaii’s Community Health Centers.
