Hui Mālama Ola Nā ‘Ōiwi, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of our island’s Native Hawaiian community, will be hosting its 11th annual Ladies’ Night Out event, a truly fun night of free haircuts, mini-manicures, facials, massages and other pampering treatments.

 

This special evening is the agency’s tribute to Ms. Nancy Everett, a registered nurse who worked alongside Hui Mālama Ola Nā ‘Ōiwi until her untimely passing in 2000. Memorial funds gifted to the agency by Nancy’s family help them to continue the event and express her aloha and vision for women and children’s health.

The Hawaii Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is holding its 4^th annual NAMIWalk event. This year’s theme is “Changing Minds One Step at a Time.” Communities, businesses, schools and church groups are invited to come together to raise funds and awareness for mental illness at this 3K walk. With 1 in 4 families being affected by a mental health disorder, mental health matters to everyone! Walk with NAMI to show your support and help them overcome the stigma of mental illness.
